Technician / Installer (2 Positions Available)

Starting at $18-$22 per hour dependent on experience, up to $30 starting for candidates that have extensive product knowledge and management experience.

At Bend Battery we specialize in the installation of batteries, solar panels and their components in Rv’s and Sprinter Vans. We also perform vehicle battery testing and replacement. A candidate must have tool/carpentry/automotive experience (use of a wide variety of tools), a strong mechanical aptitude and tool experience is required. We will provide extensive training for all aspects of this position. A general knowledge of batteries and solar functions is necessary to thrive. Training is provided but you must be a quick learner and able to problem solve in a fast-paced environment. Our technicians are given training on the job and online course work during work hours for continued education in emerging technologies in the power industry.   There is a multitude of information and experience needed to fully install a functioning and safe power system and a technician will take on more components of a build as their experience and skills progress. Work is performed indoors in a shop environment, tool usage includes mechanic's hand and power tools that produce significant vibration and force, standing and walking will be required for entire work shift in order to complete job duties. Pushing, pulling, crouching, squatting, reaching, and kneeling will be required frequently to access all parts of vehicles being worked on. Lifting as well as pushing and pulling weights and forces from 20 to 70 pounds is required.

 

The responsibilities of our technicians include but are not limited to:

Solar and battery component installation

Measuring lengths and building custom cables for various projects

Routing of cables

Must be able to lift heavy items repetitively 

The ability to follow safety standards and procedures
